Dr. Stan Monteith's passing to be with the Lord - Sept. 29th 2014
May the Lord strengthen his family with joy and love as they cope with decisions regarding his ministry and deal with his absence in their personal lives. With much loving sympathy from all of us.
Caryl's remembrances at the loss of a dear friend and much respected champion in the race!
Dr Stan, a well renowned radio talk show host, loved across this nation and internationally, is well known for his coverage of cutting edge political and spiritual topics. His bold reporting and insightful commentaries will be sorely missed by millions of his listeners worldwide. His courageous team at Radio Liberty, consisting of Barbara, his mega-supportive wife, their efficient Assistant, Latisha, and many others, have, over the decades, been a tremendous support and source of encouragement to me for which I am truly grateful!
Dr. Stan, author and syndicated Radio Host, has been a cherished personal friend and bold advocate of my ministry which produces books and DVDs exposing eastern mysticism and its encroachment into the Church. His radio interviews with me were curried with his deep understanding of this subject and other numerous issues surrounding our mutual concerns. I always came away richer from his radio chats after listening to his profound nuggets of knowledge and stimulated by his deep understanding of current events and Biblical Truth. He's been a strong contender for The Faith and an encouraging co-labourer with me in numerous ways. His personal interaction will be much missed by me but I'm confident his powerful and timely messages will continue to circulate the globe and strengthen his worldwide supporters as well as equip the Church with discernment during these last days.
On another personal note, may I take this opportunity to thank thousands around the world who've been lifting me up in prayer as I have been recovering after my life threatening bike accident in Wisconsin almost a month ago. The Lord has been upholding me mightily throughout all stages of my hospitalization at two hospitals, my surgery, and various recovery procedures.
After successful surgery last week on my facial bone fractures, I am slowly mending all over, and hope to fly back to Southern California in about ten days. The traumatic swelling and bruising both inside and outside my body are healing miraculously, surprising both medical and lay people. I am confident to know God's Hand has been a very Present Help to me in each process of my troubles.
To review what happened in response to hundreds of inquiring emails, in early September, after I had completed my speaking sessions at a very successful Prophetic conference hosted by Calvary Chapel in Appleton Wisconsin, I was returning to fly back from Madison, when on the evening of September 9th, my friend Dana and I decided to bicycle down to see the sun setting on Rock Lake in Lake Mills. (Dana has been co-labouring with us in research and production of the Wide is The Gate Emerging Christianity series. We are working together on Volume 3 despite the setback of this almost fatal bike accident. Dana is also the Producer of the brilliant Falling to Peaces series we carry in our www.caryltv.com eshop! She was at the Appleton Calvary Chapel conference as a tremendous support to all of us!
Dana and I had only cycled a few blocks from her home when careening down a steep hill my front bicycle tire caught some gravel on the road's shoulder and I completely lost control as I was struggling to get over back on the road. My last memory was a wiggling bicycle wheel swaying and curling back and forth! Apparently I came crashing down in the middle of the asphalt road, skidding ten yards or so in the process, after which the heavy electric bike (weighing about 60 lbs) was intertwined with my legs as I lay face down. On returning back to the scene, poor Dana was stunned to see me lying motionless and expected the worst as she saw me lying in a pool of blood. Bless her for getting me through my concussion over the next 24 hours! I apparently didn't lose consciousness as she talked me through memory details, but I can't remember much of anything! She accompanied me from ambulance to both hospitals and looked after all the complicated hospital and insurance paperwork and details that come with this type of life changing drama!
Several hours went by after an ambulance rushed me to the local hospital, after which it was determined I should be airlifted by helicopter to the Madison Hospital Trauma Unit due to concern surrounding blood issues in my cranial cavity. Bones were fractured in my face and severe abrasions resulted in the administering of facial stitches. My body was covered in massive abrasions which of course resulted in clothing having to be cut off me, etc. The bike handlebars' point of impact was under my rib cage and the left side of my body hit the concrete hard resulting in shoulder, knee and leg traumas that have been ongoing. Fortunately, no further broken bones in my body added to the pain which has been consistently heavy over the last month. Last week I had a surgery to have fluid extracted from my temple and also to pop the facial fracture back in place which has given my jawbone much relief! Over the coming months, more feeling will slowly come back on the left side of my face as nerves heal.
Bodily swelling has been going down steadily, and the vast amount of bruising over almost every inch of me has been changing color across the spectrum, reminding me of the surrounding Autumn leaves during the present beautiful Fall Season in Wisconsin. The countryside is ablaze with color as sunshine filters through trees set against clear blue skies and I too am ablaze with color! It all makes me continually thankful towards a very Gracious God Who is seeing me through a miraculous and speedy recovery. I can see, I can smell, I can taste, I can talk, I can think, my brain is active and I'm continually reminded of how much good has come out of this accident!
Many thanks to you all for your continued prayers, condolences, flowers, cards, phone calls, emails and messaging! Your best wishes and loving kindness humble me immensely and encouraged me through some of the darkest hours of pain which I am thrilled to report are lightening up day by day! Even though recovery will take many months as damaged nerves hopefully repair I KNOW that I KNOW my God has been Faithful, and I thank all of YOU, my dear family and friends, for your supportive part in my healing and your faithful encouragement!
*UPDATE* Monday Oct 13th 2014
After a good report about a successful surgery I flew back to So. California a few days ago. I am now safely settled in my own home. Thanks to local friends rallying around with daily care, hot meals and even flowers to cheer me on, I am happily being well looked after and getting stronger day by day!
Hopefully in a few weeks I can' be back on the tennis courts and actually playing tennis again? How Great is our God and MIGHTY in all His Ways. Caryl
